Hi there! My name is Alisha and I had the Gastric Bypass in March of 2012. At my highest weight that I know of I weighed 412 lbs. See I got so big that my scale said error whenever I tried to weigh myself. I had tried all the diets and they would work great for the first month to three months 00and then either I would start to slowly gain the weight back by them not working anymore or I couldn't handle the strict diet and wanted real food. I then would gain all the weight back plus more. In August and September of 2012 I had two heart attacks. I was told if I didn't get the weight off fast I wouldn't make it to my sons graduation. I then looked at the group of doctors that stood over me and said but I'm only 33 and my son graduates in 2 years? My doctor said I know, but you have a heart of an 80 year old woman. So I took what they said and ran with it. I immediately talked to a bariatric group here in the state that I live in. They were great up until my insurance company refused to pay for the surgery, stating, "I got myself into this by eating too much". I cried and thought well I guess I will live life to the fullest with my children and hope they will remember me. It was then that my friend stated her brother went to Mexico for the RNY. It was super cheap and he loved his doctor there. So I went online and googled Gastric Sleeve Mexico. So I clicked on the Tijuana Bariatrics website and seen the price and about fainted. So cheap! I could definitely afford that. With the help of my family, I went down to Tijuana and had my Gastric Bypass. When I returned everyone freaked out I went to Mexico, especially Tijuana for the RNY surgery. At first I was scared. Going to a foreign place and having a major surgery. However, from the time I was picked up at the San Diego airport to the time I was dropped back off at the San Diego Airport I felt safer there then in the big cities here in the states. I even walked around after my surgery and went shopping. It was by far the best experience ever! I am now almost 3 years out and fluctuate between 152 and 157. With the help of this wonderful team I know I can call or email them at anytime with any questions I may have and know I will get the help I need. Thank you for helping me turn my life around and to be able to have more time with my children! I am a much happier and healthier person and couldn't have done it without the help from you all!
